Welcome to Westborough High School

Mr. Callaghan

Dear Students and Families:

It is always a goal at WHS to find the best strategies to reach students in order to guide them to learn, grow, and develop. Our teachers use a variety of innovative instructional approaches to instill a passion for learning and build confident, competent students. Teachers continually look for ways to differentiate their instruction to support the learning of all students, to meet their individual needs, and to challenge them to be their best. We focus on enhancing students’ ability to think critically and creatively, and to be innovative problem solvers and proficient communicators; to speak and write effectively and clearly – across all content areas. We feel assured of the successes from the first half of the year, and despite having less than 90 days of teaching and learning left, we are excited about Semester 2. It is our goal to help insure our students develop skills and capacities that contribute to making them successful citizens, more effective communicators, and responsible collaborators. You will see how various departments at WHS are reaching that goal in next month's newsletter that will contain specific curriculum highlights. As always, please have your child connect with his/her teacher to find opportunities to enrich the learning experience or to clarify expectations. Parents are also encouraged to reach out to a teacher to explore ways in which they can support their child at home. Best wishes for a wonderful upcoming Spring!

Take Care, Mr. Callaghan
