WHS Summer Reading 2017

WHS Summer Reading 2017
Posted on 06/06/2017

Summer is almost here and it's time to select a great book to read for our WHS Summer Reading Program! Summer Reading books have been chosen with a collaboration of students and teachers to offer a wide variety of choice - there are over 40 books on the list.  All students are required to choose a book from the Summer Reading 2017 List. Students are expected to read their choice book, from the provided list, over the summer.

There are posters in classrooms with a QR code and a link to allow students to sign up easily.  Students can also sign up by visiting the WHS Home page, the WHS Library Media website and  Bulletin boards have been made near the library and the third floor with posters that have QR codes for each book on the list. This will allow students to quickly see the summary of the choice books.

Students should sign up by June 12th on this SUMMER READING sign up form.

A Book Sale will be held in the WHS Library on June 14 from 7:30-3:30.  Please indicate when you sign up for your book as to whether you would like to purchase your summer reading book at the sale to help us determine how many books are needed. Books will be available for purchase at a discounted price for students.

Soon after the start of school in the fall, the WHS community will come together to celebrate reading and literacy with a school wide Literacy Event.  All students will be expected to participate.

Students who do not sign up for a choice book will be assigned to a classroom where they will be expected to complete an alternative assignment during the literacy event in the fall.
