Our final preparations are underway for the start of the fall sports seasons.  Here is some information you will need as we approach our first practice on September 18th.

1. Please make sure all registrations are completed by September 13th.  We will be shutting down registration at Midnight on 9/13 so all registrations must be in by then.  An email will be sent early next week with a PDF that you can use to check your registration status using your student ID.
2. We will be holding a Zoom meeting for all sports participants and their families on September 16th at 6:30pm.  Please be sure to let your parent/guardian know that you will need to attend that meeting together.  A link will be sent out early next week for that meeting.  It should last 30-45 minutes.

3. All student athletes will need to provide a personal equipment bag with the following items: 

    • Reusable face masks (Recommend 6)
    •  Personal bottle of hand sanitizer
    •  Disinfectant wipes for personal use
    •  Athletic braces, tape, inhaler, other should be stored in gym bag when not in use
    •  Personal water bottle labeled with athlete’s name
    •  Additional shoes (Shoes should be stored in a separate compartment or bag inside the gym bag to prevent possible cross contamination with other items)
    •  Mouth Guard

     

4. September 18th- First day of practices
  • Boys Cross Country- 3:00pm- meet on softball field  
  • Girls Cross Country- 3:00pm- meet in grass outside fitness center  
  • Field Hockey- 3:00pm- meet on upper turf field
  • Girls Soccer- 3:00pm- meet at Mill Pond
  • Boys Soccer- Freshmen and Sophomores- 3:00pm- meet at Gibbons
  • Boys Soccer- Juniors and Seniors- 4:00 pm- meet at Gibbons
  • Golf- 3:00pm- Grass on top plaza area at main field.
We will cover much more information in our Zoom meeting on the 16th, but this should get you started.

 Registrations is due October 16th, 2014.  The season runs 10/21/14 through 11/21/14.  Please contact Nate Jyringi at jyringin@westboroughk12.org for more information. 


Registration Procedures:

Step 2:  Click here for an introduction letter from Family ID 
Step 3:  Click here for the link to our new  registration website.  Once on the website, you will create an account for your family.  This account will be used to register your students each season without having to re-enter your personal information
Step 4:  Turn a current copy of your physical into the nurse-  physicals are only good for 13months from the date on they physical.
Step 5:  Take ImPact-All Fall Athletes MUST take Impact.  Be sure to turn off your "pop up" blocker.  Instructions are here.

 

Concussion Education:

Based on a new Mass State Law, the DPH has regulated that all parents and student athletes be educated regarding the risks associated with concussions. 

A copy of the full State Law can be downloaded HERE.

All parents are encouraged to take the free NFHS concussion education course provided HERE.

Other resources can be found in the Important Documents link to the left, or you can visit the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/sports/index.html

The following sports will be offered for the Fall 2 season- (Feb. 22nd through April 25th).  During the Fall 1 seasons, these programs will have limited practice opportunities, but will compete in the Fall 2 season.

Cheerleading
Volleyball
Football

High School Fall Sports Registration Procedures:

 Please check www.mwlma.org for all game schedules.

Paperwork and registration are due September 13th, 2020

Step  1:  Click here for instructions on how to register.

Step  2:  Click here for the link to our registration website.  Please be sure to update all information and check for accuracy.

Step 3:  Turn a current copy of your physical into the nurse-  physicals are only good for 13 months from the date on the physical.  Physicals dated past 13 months are considered expired.  We cannot accept TELE HEALTH physicals.  Students must provide an in person physical exam.

In addition to a physical:
     - Students must provide an updated medical history and head injury history through Family ID
     - Students and parents must take part in the DPH education programs regarding head injuries and opiate use.

     -Students and parents must complete annually one of the head injury safety training programs approved by the Department of Public Health.  Those programs include:

The NFHS program

Step 4:  Sway Concussion Management-  Athletes will participate in our SWAY concussion management program.  Students will be tested as a team during the 1st week of practice.

Step 5: All Fall athletes and their parent/guardians will participate in a virtual meeting on September 16th, 2020 at 6pm.
